Letter: Is past discrimination being forgotten in wall debate?

Is past discrimination being
forgotten in wall debate?

Is it just a weird coincidence that Cathy Ledbetter wrote a
letter supporting a wall that discriminates (“Trump’s No. 1 job
is protecting Americans,” Jan. 6)? Or perhaps she doesn’t know
that two people with her same family name faced discrimination by
bigots.

I am a professional singer and songwriter and wrote a song about
Huddie Ledbetter and Lilly Ledbetter, who both suffered
discrimination.

Bigots prevented Huddie Ledbetter (known as “the king of the
12-string guitar”) from renting a home. Lilly Ledbetter was paid
less than men on the same job at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Company. My song: “The Bigotry Blues.” Related Articles

Those who don’t remember the past are destined to repeat
it.
