Climate act creates 2.1M
jobs over the next 10 years
For anyone following climate change news, it can be pretty
depressing. Recent dire warnings from the Intergovernmental Panel
on Climate Change and the National Climate Assessment each included
strong calls for governments to take action.
The conventional wisdom is that the current U.S. government will
not do anything. But there is some good news! On Nov. 27, the
Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act was introduced in the
House of Representatives, with both Republican and Democratic
The carbon dividend puts money directly into people’s pockets
every month to spend as they see fit, helping low- and
middle-income Americans. Plus, it will create 2.1 million
additional jobs over the next 10 years and grow the economy.
